TAS is a
full-service training academy for the player who strives to achieve the
best they can in tennis, academics, and character. Beginning
February 20, 2012, the Tennis Academy of the South will begin tennis
training at Fowler Park in Cumming, GA. In conjunction with Forsyth County
Park & Recreation, TAS will be the first major junior tennis academy in
South Forsyth.
TAS is dedicated to training tennis players to play USTA
tournaments including QuickStart through 18 & Under,
high school tennis and college tennis. Students are
trained with on court drills designed to develop stroke
production and make shot execution second nature. TAS
strives to create a fun atmosphere where students can
enjoy and develop their game. Your children will be
instructed by our expert staff, led by USPTA trained
professionals who want to make tennis a life-long sport
for each student.
Junior Academy
is a training program designed for the junior player,
ages 11 and older, who wants to play high school tennis,
become a competitively ranked tournament player or
compete at the college level. On court training includes
intensive drilling, match tactics and conditioning. Off
court training includes mental imagery, goal setting and
tournament coaching. Academy drills are 2 hours per
drill, 2 to 3 times per week.

Jeff Groslimond
Tip: Imagery
or visualization is extremely useful in almost all aspects of
the tennis game. A player can improve technique, strategy,
physical abilities and his mental preparation of certain events.
Another use of imagery is when a player misses a shot and then
quickly sees in his mind how he hit the ball correctly.
Using imagery is an incredibly efficient technique, not only in
tennis sports psychology but in everyday life, too.
